Emergency Medicine Research
The presentation, dissemination, and publication of scholarly activity is a major area of focus within the residency program. Our faculty is comprised of national and international experts in various subject matters within Emergency Medicine. We aim to provide faculty mentorship to allow resident physician-scholars to formulate and complete their scholarly pursuits. Our CCH EM residents, fellows, and faculty collaborate on papers and research projects with other specialties at CCH and other experts in emergency medicine research at various institutions throughout the country. Below is a selection of recent publications to come out of our department.

Research at county
All residents must complete one scholarly activity as a requirement for graduation. However, many of our residents choose to get involved in a variety of research projects throughout their training. Faculty from various interests and subspecialties are very supportive of resident scholarly activities and help residents publish research studies, case reports, book chapters, and abstracts or posters at national conferences.
PGY2 residents attend the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) Scientific Assembly, while PGY4 residents attend the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Scientific Assembly. Residents are actively encouraged by faculty to attend other national and local conferences to present their scholarly pursuits. The department has money set aside to assist in sending residents to these events.
